Sophie Kneebone

Actor, improviser, John Denver superfan

Actor, writer, comedian, improviser and lover of country music.

Hello! I'm Sophie Kneebone. I'm an actor, improviser, comedian, tech enthusiast and human woman based in Melbourne, Australia.

I haven't exactly followed a traditional career path, but I've packed a lot of learning into my life so far. Right now I'm working full time as Customer Success Lead at Medipass Solutions, where the goal is to improve the transparency and efficiency of Australian healthcare transactions. It's really awesome. You can read more about Medipass here.

Other stuff: I'm a co-Artistic Director of The Big HOO-HAA! Melbourne (Melbourne’s longest-running improvised comedy show), a founding member of Impromptunes: The Completely Improvised Musical and a cast member of ABC iView’s 'Written It Down' (winner: Best Collaboration, 2014 Online Video Awards). I've written, produced and performed in comedy shows all around Australia, including my two solo sketch shows, “Braveface” and “Because Scary”.

Other other stuff: Before Medipass, I was the Podcast Manager at Omny Studio. During that time I worked closely with top podcasters in Australia and around the world, advising them on podcast marketing and technology. In 2016, I was chuffed to be asked to speak at Podcast Movement in Chicago, the world’s largest gathering of podcasters and audio-on-demand industry professionals, on the iTunes Store and podcast marketing.

A remarkably fine actress who pulls off all her characters with warmth, subtlety and good comic timing
